12 Mighty Orphans tells the true story of the Mighty Mites, the football team of a Fort Worth orphanage who, during the Great Depression, went from playing without shoes—or even a football—to playing for the Texas state championships. Over the course of their winning season these underdogs and their resilient spirit became an inspiration to their city, state, and an entire nation in need of a rebound, even catching the attention of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The architect of their success was Rusty Russell, a legendary high school coach who shocked his colleagues by giving up a privileged position so he could teach and coach at an orphanage. Few knew Rusty's secret: that he himself was an orphan. Recognizing that his scrawny players couldn't beat the other teams with brawn, Rusty developed innovative strategies that would come to define modern football.

In a society in which major league sporting events have replaced Sunday worship as the religion of choice, North Dallas Forty appears like a desecration at the altar. In this film, directed by Ted Kotcheff (The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz), the National Football League is revealed to be more about the money than the game. Nick Nolte is North Dallas Bulls pass-catcher Phillip Elliott, whose cynicism and independent spirit is looked upon as troublesome by team coaches Johnson (Charles Durning) and Strothers (G.D. Spradlin) and team owner Conrad Hunter (Steve Forrest). Elliot, at the end of his career and wise to the way players are bought and sold like cattle, goes through the games pumped up on painkillers conveniently provided by the management. His teammates include savvy quarterback Maxwell (Mac Davis) and lunk-headed defensive lineman Jo Bob Priddy (Bo Svenson), who deal with the impersonality and back-biting of the game through off-field diversions. When the Bulls management benches Elliot after manipulating him to help train a fellow teammate, Elliot has to decide whether there is more to life than the game that he loves.

They don't have a feud, most of them really like each other so that is another thing they don't have in common with the Jets and the Sharks. What they do have in common with The Jets and The Sharks is they love to dance. And when I say dance, I mean SKATE. And when I say SKATE, I mean really good. 2022 World Series Champions: Houston Astros
"Welcome to Space City, home of the Houston Astros™ – your 2022 World Series® champions! The Astros defeated the Philadelphia Phillies™ in six games after winning 106 regular season games and sweeping through their first two rounds of Postseason™ play.Perennial Fall Classic™ contenders, the Astros looked to Level Up in 2022 after narrowly missing a championship in 2021. The first move was to bring back legendary Manager Dusty Baker, who perfectly understood how to mix incredible instincts and experience with the Astros undeniably successful analytical approach. Then came bolstering the roster. Justin Verlander dominated in his return to an already stellar rotation after missing most of the previous two seasons with an injury, and their rookie shortstop Jeremy Peña flashed brilliance during his inaugural campaign. These key returns and additions propelled the rock-solid foundation of Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez, Alex Bregman, Ryan Pressly, Kyle Tucker, and Framber Valdez. The Astros would deliver one of the finest seasons in MLB® history, then methodically dismantle the Seattle Mariners™ in the ALDS™ and the New York Yankees™ in the ALCS™. An immaculate 7-0 run to start the Postseason set up a showdown with the red-hot, hard-hitting Philadelphia Phillies. Philadelphia would jump out to a 2 games to 1 lead, but the Astros lifted off behind a stellar bullpen that posted the lowest ERA in Postseason history; the second no-hitter in World Series history; and sensational rockets off the bats of Alvarez, Bregman, Tucker, and Peña, who claimed Willie Mays World Series MVP honors. With the Game 6 victory at Minute Maid Park™, the World Series was won in front of the home crowd for the first time since 2013. Baker earned his first World Series ring as manager, and the city of Houston and its Astros fans celebrated with an out of this world parade."

She soon teams up with Alex Harrison (Ross Thomas, CSI) an adrenaline-junkie surfer and in-line skater. And though Alex is officially tied to another girl, the partnership takes an intriguing turn when the two opt to go doubles for a skating championship, just like Jackie's folks once did. Soon, hints of romance between them fill the air. Could these two acerbic, bickering opposites ever find lasting happiness? Andreas Fransson has been called the boldest extreme skier in a generation. Over the past 3 years he's logged first descents in a half-dozen countries, battled back from an accident that nearly killed him, and became the most talked about skier in the epicenter of all things extreme, Chamonix, France. What makes Andreas most intriguing, however, are his thoughtful musings on meaning from a life on the edge, a willingness to enter mental spaces that few have ever experienced. In Tempting Fear Sweden's soft spoken Adventurer of the Year explored a place in which fear overwhelms all emotions, playing both friend and enemy in a pas de deux where death lies just one misstep away.

That success earned him an immense fortune and worldwide fame. His was also one of the most influential and inspiring sports stories of recent memory and became a pop culture phenomenon, thanks to his Livestrong initiative. Beginning in 2009, Academy Award winning documentarian Alex Gibney followed Armstrong for four years chronicling his return to cycling after retirement, as he tried to win his eighth title. Unexpectedly, Gibney was also there in 2012 when Armstrong admitted to doping, following a federal criminal investigation, public accusations of doping by his ex-teammates, and an investigation by the US Anti-Doping Agency, that led USADA's CEO, Travis Tygart, to conclude that Armstrong's team had run 'the most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen.
