During recovery, Sat consulted his friend, nutritionist Dr Neil Williams, who guided him on a revised diet to help maintain heart health. Having two Michelin Stars and a three-decade long obsession with flavour, Sat was not willing to sacrifice great food just because his diet now had to be heart healthy. This collection of recipes is made up of those he devised following surgery and focuses on lean protein, a mix of legumes, good fats - such as avocado, nuts and olive oil - and vegetables and fruits. These delicious, simple dishes are designed for every day, they use supermarket-friendly ingredients and are accompanied by nutritional advice highlighting the ingredients rich in heart-healthy vitamins and minerals.

My Wine Diet: How Losing Weight And Drinking Wine Changed My Life - Jackie Clark Cover Art

My Wine Diet: How Losing Weight And Drinking Wine Changed My Life

My Wine Diet: How Losing Weight And Drinking Wine Changed My Life by Jackie Clark

My story started just after Christmas 2012. I reduced my food intake by a small amount to lose a few pounds put on over Christmas. I did not write anything down at this point. After the first week, my weight had dropped by 1.25 pounds. Now I did not cut down by much; I still drank my wine and had other goodies. I realized that I was enjoying my food, having treated myself, and losing weight. I decided that if I could lose weight by doing what I was doing. Instead of being a martyr to yet another oddball diet, I could continue this way, lose weight and enjoy this way of eating long term. I also really needed to lose more than a few pounds. Rather a lot of pounds needed to be removed from my body. I decided that I would attempt to use this method of eating as a lifestyle choice. I would not drink gallons of wine or eat pounds of chocolate, but I was not going to give them up. My intention was once and for all to take control of my weight, eat goodies, drink wine and not shy away from going out for meals, etc. I could, have done as I had in the past. That is to go on a crash diet, lose the weight and then go back to normal eating and put weight on again. I was utterly sick to death of doing that. My whole life, was dieting to lose weight. I wrote down what I remembered I had eaten during the previous week, so I could know my starting point. Over the following months, I kept records of my food intake. I had good weeks and bad weeks and adjusted my food to suit my weight loss or lack of it. As my weight reduced, I reduced my food intake as I needed less energy to carry me about, so needed less food. Sometimes I got it incorrect and felt a little hungry so had to adjust accordingly. Often I got it wrong and gained weight. Over the months, my weight slowly reduced, and I learned what worked for me. One thing I did learn was to not be in a hurry. If my weight loss slowed I did not reduce my food intake by a significant amount. I reduced it slightly and then waited a few days to see the result. I usually waited a week. What I eat today will not affect my weight tomorrow. My weight changes days after eating a lot extra or cutting out a lot of food.

What does food have to do with brain health? Everything. Your brain burns more of the food you eat than any other organ. It determines if you gain or lose weight, if you're feeling energetic or fatigued, if you're upbeat or depressed. In this essential guide and cookbook, Drew Ramsey, MD, explores the role the human brain plays in every part of your life, including mood, health, focus, memory, and appetite, and reveals what foods you need to eat to keep your brain—and by extension your body—properly fueled. Drawing upon cutting-edge scientific research, Dr. Ramsey identifies the twenty-one nutrients most important to brain health and overall well-being—the very nutrients that are often lacking in most people's diets. Without these nutrients, he emphasizes, our brains and bodies don't run the way they should. Eat Complete includes 100 appetizing, easy, gluten-free recipes engineered for optimal nourishment. It also teaches readers how to use food to correct the nutrient deficiencies causing brain drain and poor health for millions. For example: • Start the day with an Orange Pecan Waffle or a Turmeric Raspberry Almond Smoothie, and the Vitamin E found in the nuts will work to protect vulnerable brain fat (plus the fiber keeps you satisfied until lunch). • Enjoy Garlic Butter Shrimp over Zucchini Noodles and Mussels with Garlicky Kale Ribbons and Artichokes, and the zinc and magnesium from the seafood will help stimulate the growth of new brain cells. • Want to slow down your brain's aging process? Indulge with a cup of Turmeric Cinnamon Hot Chocolate, and the flavanols found in chocolate both increase blood flow to the brain and help fight age-related memory decline. Featuring fifty stunning, full-color photographs, Eat Complete helps you pinpoint the nutrients missing from your diet and gives you tasty recipes to transform your health—and ultimately your life.

Sodium Counter Book A Beginner's Quick Start Guide to Counting Sodium, with a Sodium Food List and Low Sodium Sample Recipes by Mary Golanna

Did you know that the recommended sodium intake by the American Heart Association (AHA) should not exceed 1,500 milligrams per day? GLP-1 Diet Cookbook for Beginners

GLP-1 Diet Cookbook for Beginners 90-Day Meal Plan with 5-Ingredient Recipes to Boost Weight Loss, Curb Cravings, and Support Energy for Users of Medications Like Ozempic, Wegovy & Mounjaro. by Abigail Douglas

Over the past few years, GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro have completely transformed the weight loss conversation. For millions, they’ve offered something long thought impossible — a way to finally gain control over hunger, improve blood sugar management, and make lasting progress toward a healthier body. But here’s the truth I’ve seen again and again: the medication is only half the story. To truly thrive on a GLP-1 journey — whether your goal is weight loss, appetite control, or improved energy — you need a way of eating that works with your body, not against it. And that’s exactly why I created this book. The GLP-1 Diet Cookbook for Beginners is your go-to companion for turning the appetite-suppressing benefits of GLP-1 therapy into a real-life, sustainable lifestyle. This isn’t a restrictive diet or a one-size-fits-all plan. Instead, it’s a 90-day roadmap packed with: • 5-ingredient recipes that are quick, flavorful, and gentle on digestion. • A structured meal plan designed specifically for reduced appetite while meeting your nutritional needs. • Practical tips for managing side effects like nausea, constipation, and low appetite without derailing your progress. • Tools to help you eat well at home, at work, while traveling, or at social events. • Guidance for transitioning to intuitive eating and keeping results for life. I’ve filled this book with GLP-1-friendly breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks that are high in protein, rich in fiber, and balanced with healthy fats. Every meal is designed to fuel your body on fewer calories without sacrificing taste or satisfaction. And because I know variety is key, you’ll find weekly rotation themes, customizable swaps for vegetarian and dairy-free diets, and make-ahead options for busy days. Whether you’re brand new to GLP-1 medications or looking for a way to maintain your weight loss results, this book is here to guide you from your very first meal to your long-term lifestyle. My hope is that as you work through the Reset & Nourish, Boost & Balance, and Sustain & Thrive phases, you’ll not only see physical changes but also feel empowered to make confident food choices — long after the 90 days are over. Your journey toward a healthier, more energized, and more balanced life starts here. And I promise — it’s going to be simpler, more delicious, and more sustainable than you think.

How to Eat Weed and Have a Good Time - Vanessa Lavorato Cover Art

How to Eat Weed and Have a Good Time

How to Eat Weed and Have a Good Time A Cannabis Cookbook by Vanessa Lavorato

“She’s LA’s Martha Stewart of weed. Her new cookbook makes edibles more fun and less scary.” — Los Angeles Times Cook delicious dishes with cannabis like never before and take each meal to new heights with recipes that are sure to delight stoners and newcomers alike. Recreational cannabis use is now legalized in nearly half of the United States (and medicinal use is legalized in most states), but for so many people, edibles are the preferred method. For some, smoking is too harsh on their lungs while others find it more fun to eat their weed. Plus, the high you get from consuming cannabis in food can be stronger and more sustained versus the immediate and sometimes overwhelming rush you might get from smoking it. While most dispensaries sell gummies and possibly infused chocolates, there’s so much more you can do with weed at home, and that’s what How to Eat Weed and Have a Good Time is here to prove. Author and host of VICE ’s Bong Appetit , Vanessa Lavorato is teaching you how to create sweet and savory cannabis dishes right in your home kitchen. After crafting 200 certified lab tests in her research—to help ensure that the infusions for staples like cannabis butter, oil, sugar, and more are as accurate as possible—Vanessa walks you through every step of the process with informative tables and charts, making this book incredibly useful and wildly popular. With dazzling photography throughout, the book includes delicious recipes like taquitos, wontons, meatballs, granola, muffins, cookies, blondies, brownies, cupcakes, and more. There are also recipes for dips, dressings, and sauces from salsa to pesto to marinara—many of which can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge or freezer for when you want to take a dish to new heights. And for when you want to drink your weed, there are recipes for milkshakes, chai, iced tea, and even a Bloody Mary. This book is packed with tips and advice throughout on topics like how weed gets people high, using everything from your stove to your microwave for decarboxylation (heat activates cannabis), cooking with concentrates, and shopping for weed. This is the most authoritative book ever published on the subject of cannabis consumption.
